John A DeMarr PI, a California private investigation agency, offers complete service of process resources throughout the state and beyond.
California is one of several states that require service of process to be performed by a licensed and registered process server. All of our agents are licensed and registered, and have undergone extensive background checks. Our process and subpoena servers are among the most knowledgeable and skilled in the state.
One of the most important aspects of process service is that the client be informed as soon as service has been completed. We employ state-of-the-art resources to allow our clients around-the-clock access to the details of their cases.
We possess a network of affiliates who can serve process anywhere in the United States. No longer will you need to make additional phone calls to arrange out-of-state service. We use only firms that meet our high standards of professionalism to guarantee the same quality of service you would receive from our own team inside California. We are also equipped to handle the domestication of foreign (i.e. out-of-state) subpoenas and even the complexities of international service of process.
At John A. DeMarr PI, we specialize difficult service assignments. We can even serve multiple locations simultaneously. Our elite group of process servers possesses the skills and savvy required to serve celebrities and other hard-to-reach individuals. We can assure you that, regardless of the parties involved, your documents will be served.

Due Diligence Locate Investigations
If you are in need of a California Declaration of Due Diligence to enable service of process by publication, John A. DeMarr P.I. can assist you.
Due diligence requires an exhaustive search for a person subject to service of process. Our Due Diligence Locate investigations include searches of all public records, voting and tax assessor rolls, real and personal property records, and, in some jurisdictions, Department of Motor Vehicles and postal authorities searches. The process server (or private investigator) may also be called upon to show his attempts to locate the evasive party. These thorough investigations allow us to provide you with a Declaration of Due Diligence, a document that must be signed under penalty of perjury. The filing of the Declaration of Due Diligence enables the elusive party to be served process by publication.
As highly experienced servers of process, we know the ins and outs of due diligence, both legal and practical. We are highly skilled at this sometimes tricky aspect of service of process that can greatly expedite a court proceeding.
Our Due Diligence Searches are conducted in full compliance with the requirements of the California Code of Civil Procedure (CCP) 415.10 – 415.50.
Among the documents our team is able to serve are:
- Bank levies
- Document and personal subpoenas
- Garnishments and EWOs
- Small claims
- Summons and complaints
